I have never read a book by Becky Due before, but after reading this one I will definitely look for other books by her. It was an easy, fast read, and thoroughly enjoyable. I could totally relate to Nicole- especially how she imagined every first date being “the one”. Her relationship with her friends was so much like what I had with mine when I was her age- sharing everything- the good, the bad and the ugly with them and laughing about all of it.
The book was humorous, but also touching. Though much of the subject matter was light, she added depth by exploring the struggles in Nicole’s parents marriage. She also touched on social issues that are important in dating today-STD’s, alcohol use and trying to figure out if each date is “the one”. Read this book to find out more about life, love and dating- you will laugh and you will cry, but most of all you will have a great read!
