I stayed up until two in the morning reading this book! It was incredibly fun and entertaining, a must have for anyone interested in lighthearted romance. At one point in the book, I laughed so hard, I had tears in my eyes and really had to stop myself so I could continue reading! Unfortunately, I had lost my place, read the same passage over again and started laughing all over again! I absolutely loved the ending, I love it when stories have this kind of romantic and happy ending. I love crying at a wonderfully happy ending. When something I am reading makes me cry out of happiness, it is awesome! I loved the style of her writing, will be looking for more of her books, for sure, and would recommend this author to anyone! Fantastic!

By Laura – See all my reviews This review is from: The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love (Perfect Paperback)
The Dumpster is a fun read that keeps you entertained from start to finish. It’s about a girl named Nicole who is just looking for love. However she doesn’t quite know it yet and keeps jumping into the arms of the worst guys out there. She is used and turned out unceremoniously by these guys. The cake topper is the guy who gave her a dvd player with a recorded “dear john” message. The story revolves around Nicole, her friends and this dumpster that was placed below her window. Popping in from time to time is her mother who is in the midst of a midlife crisis which adds to the amusement of the story. Nicole is a fun main character and you find yourself cheering for her on every page.

“The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love” by Becky Due is a book that will have its readers dancing through an array of emotions while wearing a smile. Nicole is a young woman in her twenties. Like so many women in their twenties, she is looking for love. She is a fun character with a great personality. She will feel like your new best friend before you finish the book. She represents what so many of us went through looking for our “perfect” guy. Those that are still searching will relate too. It is so hard to find good guys and we will sigh with Nicole as she keeps meeting the wrong ones. We have all dealt with those guys that were SO wrong. Read this book with a friend and it will surely inspire hours of reliving your own dating disasters. In the end, you will be smiling as Nicole ends up with what she wants.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Romantic Tale, By Pat M “Pat’s Review” (Raleigh, NC) – See all my reviews This review is from: The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love (Perfect Paperback)
Becky Due may have just become one of my favorite new authors. This book is so much fun to read and was just what I needed after a stressful week. Becky Due is in search of love, she wants to change her life. We have all been there, searching the slim pickings of the dating pool, so wanting to find Mr. Right, but he seems to be lost forever. You will thoroughly enjoy this book. It has humor, romance and even has you flipping through pages quickly at one point. I smiled. I laughed. I cheered when she found what she was looking to find. It is a great read and a story you can’t help but relate to.

I loved this up to date fairy tale love story. When it comes to dating and falling for the wrong guy Nicole had it down pat and was well on her way in going through them. It was a good thing she had girlfriends to get her through because she could pick the winners. Once she gave it happened. Isn’t that the way is usually works? Smells were coming from outside the window and they were not pleasant. But like they say sometimes you have to smell something bad before you can see something good. Pick up this cute book called “The Dumpster – One Woman’s Search for Love” by Becky Due for a quick laugh. I did.
4.0 out of 5 stars Sounded like my Sister,
By Jaime S (South, USA) – See all my reviews This review is from: The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love (Perfect Paperback)
As soon as I started reading this I wanted to call my sister and tell her they finally wrote about her and it is in print. “The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love” by Becky Due is everything my sister does and says. I just wish she had a dumpster outside her window. The story was light and cute and made me laugh out loud and that is something I enjoy. This is a fun book for a plane trip. You do not have to think and you can enjoy the story. She has a strong support system and they are her friends that get her through it all. As in any group of men, there is the good, the bad, and the ugly and Nicole is trying them all on for size. You will enjoy this one and will pass it to a friend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute read!,
By Robin G “Irish bookworm” (TN) – See all my reviews This review is from: The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love (Perfect Paperback)
Becky Due has created a gem of a story in “The Dumpster!” From her unconventional title to her unconventional characters, Due weaves a very cute romantic tale. Nicole has the wrong idea about love. She is clingy and needy and has no idea what she really needs. After her last relationship ends by DVD, Nicole decides to re-evaluate the way she looks at relationships.
Love really does happen when you least expect it, and Nicole’s story is no exception. As she is trying to make sense of her romantic life, she is also battling with her building manager over the smelly dumpster that has been placed right under her window. Blessings are often in disguise, and the dumpster turns out to be one of the best blessings of Nicole’s life.
Due’s story is wonderfully pleasant and was such a quick read. The only down side? It was short! I would have loved to have read more. I will definitely be looking for more of her work and look forward to meeting more of Becky Due’s characters.
4.0 out of 5 stars Romance with a modern edge and a dash of humor…,
By GR – See all my reviews This review is from: The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love (Perfect Paperback)
Romance oriented novels can be a dime a dozen, but not so in this comical find. “The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love” by Becky Due aims to take a crack at the traditional love story or romance novel and give it a modern edge with a smart dash of humor. With a personable main character and girlfriends with attitude, it’s not hard to put yourself in her shoes and tag along for the ride. Though Nicole steals the spotlight, her friends are no shrinking violets. Roxanne is the friend all girls wish for in some capacity…one that stands by you no matter the situation. Renee will tell it like it is…the speaker of truths not necessarily wanting to be spoken. Really with this bunch, it’s hard not to laugh and smile even through the bad romantic experiences that seem to plague Nicole.
In short, you’ll laugh, you’ll smile, you’ll want to act out a certain country song on the guy that treats Nicole badly…but it’s worth each pitfall along the way. A great read for female readers and their best girl friends….
4.0 out of 5 stars The unsung female lead gets a voice…,
By G. Reba (Panama City, FL) – See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) This review is from: The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love (Perfect Paperback)
“The Dumpster: One Woman’s Search for Love” by Becky Due gives life to the often unsung female lead that is all too often cast as the “best friend”. Nicole isn’t perfect but in reality (or fiction) who is? She knows what she has going for her and what may be able to change one day but she doesn’t let it define her…she makes her own definition. Preparing for a valentine’s Day not to be forgotten, it quickly becomes one she’d rather forget. Will this be the end of her romantic aspirations? I don’t THINK so…but what happens next is certainly an eye opening experience to say the least.
Nicole is a sweetheart; you can’t help but find aspects of yourself or your close friends in her. As for the story itself…it’s sweet, it’s sassy and it’s a great way to see just what happens when you kiss enough frogs…sometimes you get a prince. Recommended read for older teens (at the youngest) through adult as the content can get a touch dicey but nothing to overtly concern oneself over.
