Acupuncture and Cupping

For the past several months I have struggled with a dull ache near my left shoulder blade, upper back area. I’ve tried chiropractic care, massage therapy, and I got an x-ray just to be sure there was nothing serious happening in my body.

Thankfully, the x-ray looked fine.

I decided to try something a little different: Acupuncture and Cupping. I’ve had three sessions and I’m hopeful that the ache is fading.

I’ve also hired a personal trainer to help strengthen my back. I’m feeling good about this too.

I think one of the biggest issues is that I spend so much time writing at my desk, I’m unaware of my sometimes slouched posture. I’m going to start sitting in a different chair (anti-gravity), taking breaks to move around, and stretching out my chest and shoulders.

I’m staying positive that this ache will leave me… but I’m also open to suggestions just in case I’m missing something.

Have you fixed an ache in your body? If so, how? Any tips for me and other sufferers? 🙂

  1. Two ways I worked on my back – I had a seat that rocked my weight forward on my knees which was perfect. When my knees got older, I switched to a large rubber ball. This forces you to maintain your balance and your posture and is not uncomfortable at all! Cheaper than one of the expensive chairs!

  2. You are so right about the exercise! I’m dedicated to fixing my back naturally and through hard work (no medications or pain pills). I’m making a conscience effort to take an active role… And while I’m at my computer, I keep my shoulders back… 🙂 So far so good!
