Take Time for Yourself

Today’s Challenge: Take time for yourself.

I will be away for several days because I’m having minor surgery next week. I’ve decided to unplug and focus on reading, writing and relaxing while I prepare and recover. I’m excited.

If I’m too bored, I’ll probably check in with my favorite blogs and bloggers. Yay! 🙂

Have an amazing weekend… and next week. 🙂

Get Ready for #Spring!

Today’s Challenge: Get ready for spring! 🙂

For me this means spring cleaning and yard work. I’m more excited for the yard work–I’m ready to get outside.

Yesterday, I started pulling some weeds in my rock garden and rearranging a few stepping-stones. I even moved my outdoor furniture from the garage to my patio, even though we’ll probably get at least one more snowstorm–I couldn’t resist. If it snows, I’ll bring the cushions inside. 🙂

Being outside was wonderful. My pug and I enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine as I made plans for my rock garden and yard. I think we’ll do more of the same today and this weekend.

Have a great weekend! 🙂

Try Not to #Worry. Worrying Takes…

Today’s Challenge: Try not to worry. Worrying takes away all the good in your life right now.

I had to learn this lesson while I was trying to save my Pug from cancer. (She’s still doing great!) I’ve also had to learn this over the years while going through major life changes. Easier said than done. I’m going through another life transition… they just keep coming… I don’t like change… 🙂 But this time, I’m using exercise to help me get through it. I figure worry is nothing but pent-up nervousness, frustration and fear of the unknown–basically, worry is nervous energy that needs to be released. A walk helps, lifting weights even better, but today I’m going to try to go for a run… This should be interesting! LOL I’m not much of a jogger, but I have the need to run off some of this sad, negative energy. I’m hoping I can do a half mile to start. Wish me luck! 🙂

Write Down 3 #Goals You Want to #Achieve

to do list

Today’s Challenge: Write down 3 goals you want to achieve today. And maybe do this everyday. 🙂

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the things I need to get done. When I make a long list or worse, when I don’t write down any of my need-to-do tasks, I can feel hopeless and typically I’ll just say, “screw it all” and I’ll watch TV or read a book or talk on the phone or google stuff or do any other distraction I can come up with just to avoid my overwhelming list. Yikes!

So, I’ve started this ‘3 Goals a Day’ thing and I’m loving it! Instead of making another list on paper, I’m using a white eraser board, and I put it where I can see it often. I just pick 3 things I need to get done. I make sure they are doable, and I make sure to start with the most important tasks first.

So far so good!

Let me know your tricks to getting things done. 🙂
